Spread the Gospel during Halloween

It is a common understanding that the origin of Halloween is evil. The children are unaware of this when they dress up in their costumes. To them it’s all fun and games. To them it’s a way to get candy for free.

Conservative homeowners may be unwilling to participate because of the original meaning of Halloween. But I would like to share with you what I did to take advantage of families coming to my door for children’s treats.

Put a candy bar in a sandwich bag. Also include in the sandwich bag a tract that shares the gospel. You can get these tracks by pre-ordering them from the American Tract Society. They have a number of narratives with pictures on the handouts that talk about God’s love and Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. There are other sources of good evangelical written materials but you have to scout them out well in advance of Halloween.

The track I used this year was what I purchased from Rabbi Schneider who is a Christian Jew. He has an extensive evangelistic program. He travels to Israel as well as in the United States preaching about Jesus and the need to accept him as the Messiah. Since there has been so much emphasis on the homosexual use of the rainbow to advertise their cause, the rabbi has written a tract called, “taking the rainbow back.” If you get on his Internet site, you could even order a T-shirt that says taking the rainbow back with Scriptures.

Keep my suggestions in mind for next Halloween. Take advantage of families coming to your door thinking that their children will get some candy but give them also a message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You might be instrumental in leading someone to the Lord and Savior. Don’t let the evil history of Halloween remain as such. Let us Christians use this as an opportunity for God and for the salvation of souls.
