How to become a Christian

The answer is in God’s word how to become a Christian. What does it say to which we should respond and believe.

Now let’s see what the apostle Paul says in a few verses that follow:

Romans 6: 23 says, “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 10: 9 says, “if thou shalt confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thy heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Going further in verse thirteen says, “for whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Here the promise of God once you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior: Romans 8: 11, “that the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by the Spirit that dwells in and you.”

Jesus said in John 5: 24, “I say unto you, he that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

Jesus said in John 6: 47, “I say unto you, he that believes on me has everlasting life.”

Furthermore, Jesus said in John 14: 6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes into the father, but by me.”

And who is Jesus? The answer is in John 1: 14 that says, “the Word (Jesus) was made flesh, and dwelt among us ,( and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the father,) full of grace and truth.”

And why did Jesus die on the cross? The answer is in 1 John 3: 8 that says, “for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, That He might destroy the works of the Devil.”

We all know that there is evil in the world. We all know that the devil is the cause of evil in the world. Jesus came to seek and save us while destroying the works of the devil.

The first step is to realize that you cannot be a Christian if you are relying on religion or your good works. Even the best of us has faults. The sincerest of us can never warrant God’s smile because even the smallest wrong thing that we have done separates us from him who is all righteous, just, and holy and all pure who cannot stand to have even an ounce of sin in his presence.

Open your heart; believe that Jesus is the Son of God who became flesh to die on the cross and be resurrected for our salvation.
