Unto to You is Born

It was a great moment in heaven as well as on earth when Jesus was born. Even so, the Angels did not understand the plan of salvation. (1 Peter 1: 12) Therefore, there was excitement and bewilderment for the purpose and method of his birth. (Luke 15:7) For us, there is joy because God was finalizing our means of redemption. (John 3:16)

Our human minds cannot understand the miracle of the Holy Spirit moving upon Mary to plant the seed of life for the Christ child. Like the miracle of Mary, so must there be a miracle within every person who repents to become a Christian. Jesus drew a comparison by saying we have no control over our fleshly birth but do have control whether or not we have a spiritual birth. Jesus said that we must be born of water and of the spirit. Our new birth must be fresh in every heart separately responding to the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

Becoming a Christian is more than acknowledging details of this Christmas and all the Christmases since. It is more than saying we believe in Jesus. Instead, it is to say we believe Jesus. There’s a major difference to believe in or to believe! To believe in Jesus is no more there to say we believe in George Washington as the first president of United States. To believe Jesus is the have a personal investment in him.

All of God’s personal interest, his sacrifice, and investment is unused if not received by each person. His guidance is for the wise like the star of Bethlehem, for the dreamers of dreams like Jacob, like all the pilgrims and travelers of history and their service to God. When you accept Christ as Savior in your heart, you will find that former friends and even relatives might have a different attitude about you. This is because repentance shows signs of character, leadership, personality. You become a different person.

Accepting Christ as Savior also presents to us new opportunities, privileges, blessings. We have a real fellowship with God’s Holy Spirit, Angels, cherubim, Seraphim, since we become a new creation in Christ. The heavenly Royalty who humbled himself was born  to be laid in a feed trough. In turn, Christ gives us royalty as kings and priests, brothers of the Almighty. When that newborn baby who was crucified to be resurrected returns to earth as the mighty King all wrongs will be righted.

The most important thing that any of us can do, especially at Christmas time, is to invite that Christ child into our hearts as Savior, Lord, God, and guide through life.
