I’m going to digress from my usual blog about Scripture so that I might tell you my own testimony of how God helped me at a time of great need.
Yesterday I was doing some work, laying on my back. Somehow, the screwdriver slipped out of my hand and dropped toward my face. When I checked, the blade of the screwdriver stabbed me below my right eyebrow about one eighth of an inch from my eyeball. I bled and required a bandage. I firmly believe that if it was not for God’s intervention, I would’ve been stabbed in the eye and lost my sight. Yes, I may have been foolish for not wearing eye protection. It was just one of those things that I thought my task would be over quickly.
It is important to me that I share with you what turned out to be good news. I also wanted to share that it is my practice for when God answers prayer (or even if I have not asked). I seek to give him glory and praise. In doing so, I would like you to be encouraged to do similar. It is too easy to assume on God’s protection and help.
Thank God for every way he helps you. It may be to help you find keys that you thought were lost. It may be something much more dramatic that he kept you from being seriously injured in a car accident. It really does not matter how small or large it is that God has been there for you. By giving him the credit, it will be a way for you to draw closer to him. It will also be away for you to stay positive in your Christian life. I encourage you to make it a practice to whisper prayers to him repeatedly throughout the day because he does so much for us that is easy for us to take for granted.
