Much praying and intercession and conversation has gone into this week. Regardless of how you view the outcome of the election, we look forward to America’s new future. In doing so, we have much work to do because our work has just begun.
As believers in Christ, we must ramp up our efforts to be his witness to the world. We must do our part to turn America to God. We must be dutiful examples of God’s love. The road ahead for all of us, no matter our political persuasion, requires that we present to our neighbors a new need for salvation, rededication, and a heightened intent for God to have more prominence in our society.
Over the last many years God has been kicked out of our community. The Bible has been seen as a divisive instrument. There are those that have considered prayer only a private matter and not for public display. God has given us a chance in America for a redo. He has allowed us to take a second look at how we have lived or how we have related to him. He is open doors for us within our shores and beyond to the rest of the world.
Ours is an opportunity and a privilege to be his witness, to be his catalyst for good. We have the prospect to be led by the Holy Spirit, if we allow him. The responsibility that God has placed on our shoulders is momentous. His expectations of how we conduct our national business is high. Before us lies a chance for America to be converted, to serve him openly and truthfully.
Let us all join together in this work. Let us be earnest in our efforts. We must guide our lives as God would have us. The opportunity that God has presented to us has no equal. We must be the kind of men and women that God would bless in the immediate and distant future. When we say God bless America, let that be sincere in thought and practice.
