What God wants you to know

There are some specific messages from God that are important for our daily walk. These include encouragement, guidance, and edification. It is as if God was talking directly to us in this matter. But what does he want us to know?

  1. God loves you. (John 3:16) this message is nothing new to the devout believer. However, there is more that we need to understand about God loving us. His love is not based on emotion as it is in our case. He made a decision to love us despite our sin. His love is consistent, persistent, insistent.
  2. God is so focused on us that nothing, nothing, nothing can rob us of our salvation. Nothing of this world can interfere with our path toward heaven. Romans 8:38 says, “I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
  3. God wants his Holy Spirit  to enter within us at the point of salvation. His intention is to guide us and bless us by taking a residence within our hearts. Unfortunately, we can grieve the Holy Spirit by our behavior. Remember that wherever you go the Holy Spirit goes with you. Take care not to escort God’s Spirit into an unsavory environment. Develop an awareness of the Holy Spirit in your life.
  4. God has made plans for you after this life. Those plans can become unappealing should we be so absorbed with the benefits and ways of the world. No amount of imagination can reveal to us what God wants to provide every believer after he leaves this world. By focusing on God’s future, the hassles of this world can have less effect on us.
  5. God has a purpose for each of us. In some cases, it may not even be important if we know what that purpose is. We have a mandate that is universal to be God’s witness. We have an opportunity on a daily basis to express what Jesus would express had he still been walking on this earth. We are his representatives, his ambassadors, his coworkers.
  6. God has already won the battle. We are overcomers. We live above the circumstances, not under them. Throw off the struggles that are not yours to have. We have the opportunity to enjoy the victory that Jesus won by his resurrection. When we stay focused on his conquest, we are looking up and not around.
  7. God still speaks to us, not as he did to those listed in Scripture, but he does speak through circumstances and the Bible. There is a myriad of promises in the Bible that are waiting for us to incorporate into our thinking patterns. By being sensitive, by being aware of what is happening in our lives, we can enjoy a new perspective during our pilgrimage here on earth. Noticing God’s intervention even in the smallest of things is an opportunity for us to glorify and offer praise and worship.

Pay attention more to what God has to say or offer us than what comes from the world. He is our Heavenly Father. He is the lover of our souls. God has provided all we need for eternity. In the meantime, he will provide for our necessities in this world.
