Take comfort, my friends, those who know the Lord will not be present on earth at the time these words become reality. The Lord has withdrawn those who know him in the rapture. God’s wrath again sin has occurred during the Tribulation. Whoever has been left behind will suffer immeasurably because of their rebellion against God and refusal to accept him as the Lord God Almighty. We are here today to discuss what happens next.
Satan has had his way deceiving many on the earth. It will then be Christ’s turn to step onto this soil. These are all events recorded in Scripture as prophecy when Jesus returns with those who were raptured or those who were murdered during the tribulation. He, with them, as a mighty army descend in power and glory. No longer is he the meek and mild servant. Jesus will come as the King with all power and glory. Shortly after his arrival, he will be prepared to fight the Battle of Armageddon. (1 Thessalonians1:10; 4:14-18; Revelation 19:17-21; Zechariah 12:11) Jesus will be the conqueror. All those with him will be his witnesses vindicated by his power.
Scripture says that after the battle, Satan will be bound for a thousand years. (Revelation 20:1-10) Imagine how awesome it will be that all those who have known Christ will experience life on earth without the presence of temptation, sickness, sorrow, or death! God is drawing a contrast between the day-to-day experience under Christ and what had been the horrors under the Antichrist and Satan’s rule. Finally, after all the millennia the true Jews wherever they may be will have the prophecy confirmed by themselves turning to Jesus as the Messiah. (Zechariah 12:10; 13:6; 14:4-7) Afterwards Satan will b’s e loosed for short time.(Revelation 20:7-15) to fight in the great battle.
What is known as the Great White Throne Judgment in which all those throughout human history who have rejected God will be resurrected to answer for their resistance. (Revelation 20:11-15) This is not a judgment against believers. They have already judged themselves while living on earth according to John 3:18. Refusing to accept Jesus as Savior will be cause for their own damnation in an eternal hell along with Satan and his cohorts. After the earth is purged by fire, they will be a new heaven and a new earth with Christ’s eternal reign. (2 Peter 3:10-14; Revelation 21: 1-8)
These words may be rejected by people who are resistant against Christ but embraced by those who can take comfort. The future after the future will contain magnificent, wonderful opportunities to enjoy the blessings of God forever OR experience the consequences of those who persist in their folly by embracing the ways of the world and the sin of their own nature. As it is today, so shall it be in the future that accepting Christ or rejecting him is a consequence of each person’s choices.
