Anytime, Anywhere, Anybody – 1 Peter 3: 15

We must not wait for the ideal opportunity to witness for Christ. Keep in mind that the person with whom you are speaking is on the road to hell unless he has accepted Christ as Savior. The question is how much do we care about others.  Whether we want to admit it or not, God has put an obligation on us for the spiritual needs of those around in our world.

We must face reality that anytime, anywhere, and anybody God told us in our text to be ready always to share the Word. Let’s review that text that says, “be ready always to give an answer to every men that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” The qualifying words in this text are always and every. It is qualifying because the hope is in you as a result of your relationship with God, not something theoretical or hypothetical.

We must face reality because our experience with God is real. If it is not genuine, then how can we be assured of her own salvation? Verse 22 goes further to tell us that by having a relationship with Jesus we can then have a good conscience toward God because of the resurrection of Jesus. This is basic salvation 101. The point we observe in this text is  because of our own spiritual experience, we must feel compelled to care for the eternal well-being of others. If it does not gnaw on your conscience, if it does not bother you that you have not witnessed when you have the opportunity, how sincere were you in your prayer of repentance?

Look around at those at the restaurant, the gas station, at the school, at the worksite and ask yourself how many of these people are going to hell and how many of those people are going to heaven. We must grow spiritually to the point that it is bothersome to our thinking about those who surround us every day. We must have a reason embedded within us as part of our DNA that Christ died for all men. We must have a hunger for souls. We must have a heart ache for those who have crossed over into eternity not knowing if they were prepared.
