WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF GOD ALWAYS SAID YES TO US?
- He would not be sovereign
- He would not be wise
- He would not be loving
- He would not be caring
- He would not know the future
- He would not have our best interests at heart
- He would not be free to act as he would wish
- He would not be able to take the initiative
- He would not be freely involved in our lives
- He would not be able to reach out to us
- He would not have a reason to comfort us
- He would not help us learn by mistakes
These are just a few reasons why God must say no to us. It is because he does love us that he says no, even if it’s hurtful. This is a way we learn to trust him by him saying no. His Holy Spirit will be free to reach out to us when we need him. We may not understand why we do not get our prayers answered the way we want, but God is all Majesty. We want God to guide us in the best way possible even if disappoints us. Jesus himself said, “Nevertheless, thy will be done.” The believer will be strongest in the turmoil if he comes to that same position as Jesus did.
