“It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”
There are two kinds of hope. The first hope expects things to happen soon and on our terms. The second hope knows that the answer is coming, but this hope requires waiting because the answer is on God’s terms.
Such hope requires that the waiting be quiet. In this, there is no mental turmoil. There is no upheaval of spirit. There is not even the need to discuss the matter. It is a satisfaction that God will answer us.
We all hope that this virus will be gone soon. There is this hope that is the better kind. We can know that God will answer us. We must also add to that knowledge a quietness of expectation.
God offers us salvation for the soul and he also offers salvation for the things that we need today. Around the world people look for the medical profession to rescue them. When the medical profession discovers a vaccine and a cure, it will be from the Lord.
So, we thank you Lord in advance for your mercy.
