The Bridge of no Return – Acts 13: 34

Are you one of those people that may feel you have accomplished nothing for God? The main thing you can only mention is that you are a Christian. At such a time It is not uncommon for people of any age to fear death, the bridge no return, thinking they have no gifts to bring to God’s throne. They may decide that your life has not counted much for God.

At times, you may have been told that God had a plan for you. However, if that was so, like others you may believe that God never told what it was. Are you one of those people who is bewildered, wanting to know what you are supposed to do for him? Do you believe that you could have received gifts from the Holy Spirit but are not sure what they are? Perhaps you’re still desiring to understand the way to serve him, but are unsure how.

Often people think that their mission for Christ is to do some dramatic or special thing. This can be spiritually dangerous because it minimizes the real testimony of your life well lived. Yes, there were people in the Bible that heard God’s voice directing them in a specific path. That is rare today. The fact is we do not need directions from the voice of God. We do not need to engage in something unique. We do not even need to do something that we can see which produces results. It is likely that we will not know the benefits we have reaped for God until we do stand before him in glory. We are not to keep score-he does!

God is more interested in believers that are obedient with a meek and quiet spirit. It is for people that share a divine type of love toward others. In the Bible it is called agape love. That kind of love is extended regardless of anything that is attractive in others. These believers have a deep concern for them. God relies on individuals to set an example. We’re not talking about examples such as sports heroes or even war heroes. God’s heroes are a genuine reflection of God in mind and heart. He wants to know that he can trust us to give the word of hope and endurance come what may. When in heaven all of us will probably be surprised how many people admired some of us who dealt with the same problems of health, discouragement, depression, and bewilderment Have your own life “godly”  alert necklace that is a Bible verse or a spiritual song for when these distractions happen so you can be reminded of he who is in charge of your life for all the times and days to come. Seek new Christian friends that are supportive. Remember that when you find yourself on the bridge of no return, death is not your enemy because, as a Christian, it  becomes in reality an elevator to take you to your Lord. No one wants the pains that could precede death. There is a difference between the pain and the dying. Prayers and medicine are the antidote for what prepares you to take one final step onto the bridge of no return.

We can share complements that the Apostle Paul paid to the churches several times. Those people mentioned in scripture did nothing grand by the world’s definition. Yet, they are examples for all of us since those 2000 years ago. God knows that you that have  endured much and yet are faithful. Stand fast, be comforted in the good  hope of the Lord.
